About
Ben Romanasky
My photography journey started shooting Black & Whites and developing them in the darkroom in junior high school back in 1984 and the pull has never let go, it only deepened. Based on Long Island, my work is shaped by two very different worlds: the coastal light and quiet harbors of the Northeast shore, and the rugged, open landscapes of the Adirondacks and Catskills where I spend as much time as I can.
I shoot what moves me. Skies on fire at the edge of dawn. Milky Way reflections on still mountain water. Lighthouses standing their ground against a moody horizon. After four decades behind the lens, I still show up before sunrise and stay until the light is gone — because that’s where the best images live.
This site is more than a gallery. It’s a record of the places I’ve been, the conditions I’ve chased, and the moments I’ve been lucky enough to capture. I hope something here stops you in your tracks the way it stopped me.
